DO I NEED PLANNING PERMISSION ?
- No. If you are converting your existing garage you do not need
planning permission. If you are able to either extend or build
above the garage then you will need planning permission. If you
require either an extension to your garage or to build over it
we will handle the application for you.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN CONVERTING A GARAGE?
- We would normally recommend having a wooden floor, plastering
the walls and ceiling, creating a door through to your hallway,
creating one or more windows, installing power points and one
or two radiators.
You can either leave your garage door and we can brick up behind
it or we can remove the garage door and create a new brick wall
and install a window.
CONVERT YOUR GARAGE INTO?
- Many people are converting their garages into all types of additional
rooms. An extra living room, a T.V. room, a larger kitchen, a
playroom, a nursery, an office, a bedroom or a combination of
two rooms such as a living room and a downstairs W.C. or any combination
of any other two rooms.
- If you have an integral garage (built into your home) you could
even extend at the rear.
- If you have an annexed garage (a garage built next to and adjoining
your house) you may be able, subject to planning consent, to convert
the garage and to build a second story above.
- We do not normally recommend converting a garage that is situated
away from your house. It would not be economical.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
- Prices can start from as little as £4999.This is a very
approximate guide for a basic conversion. If you decide to have
additional work such as extra rooms, extra plumbing, installation
of kitchen units or a bathroom, this will increase the price.
